Linear tables and linear modules are rodless actuators that guide a moving carriage or platform along a defined axis. Compared with rod-type actuators, they can support lateral loads and provide defined straightness, flatness, repeatability and positioning performance.

What Are Rodless Actuators / Linear Modules?

Linear modules and linear tables are rodless actuators that typically use one or two guiding rails to guide a moving table or platform. In contrast to rod-type actuators, a linear module can usually handle lateral forces and provides defined straightness and flatness motion performance parameters.

They are used in automation, precision assembly, optics, metrology, semiconductor tools, test systems, and multi-axis positioning systems where a guided moving platform is more useful than a simple extending rod.
